How to check your credit score and credit report in Zambia, what lenders look at, and simple ways to improve your credit history before you apply for a loan.
When you apply for a loan, most lenders in Zambia check your credit report with a credit reference bureau. Knowing what’s on it helps you borrow with confidence.
Your credit report lists your past and current loans and whether you repaid on time. Your credit score is a number based on that history. Lenders use it, along with your income, to decide whether a loan is affordable for you.
Credit reports in Zambia are held by licensed credit reference bureaus, such as TransUnion Zambia. Contact the bureau directly with your NRC to request your report. Check it for mistakes and ask the bureau to correct anything that’s wrong.
At Ornix Credit your credit report is one part of how we assess your application, alongside your income. See our loan requirements.
